An update on coaching at OBUBC (25 May 2025)
Following the recent independent investigation by Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP, which considered the evidence and views of a range of stakeholders, Oxford Brookes has been giving careful thought to the future direction and leadership of the Boat Club. With the independent investigation now complete, the University and Boat Club are working hard to implement its recommendations and outcomes. Now that many of these changes are underway, the University believes that now is the right time for the Boat Club to move forward under new leadership. As a University, we now look forward to continuing the Boat Club’s successes and building for the future, through enhancing the inclusive and respectful environment
Henley Women’s Regatta 2024
Oxford Brookes Women claim both the Championship and Academic Eights at Henley Women’s Regatta In a spectacular repeat of the results from last season, Brookes retained both the Ron Needs Challenge Cup for Championship VIIIs and the Colgan Foundation Cup for Academic VIIIs. Last year’s result was a first for the regatta. To repeat the same feat, alongside other notable results, further characterizes the incredible work being put in by the entire women’s group to raise the quality of their training and racing performances. GBRT April Trials 2024
Success for BROOKES|Rowing at GB Trials This weekend, 21 BROOKES|Rowing athletes raced over two days at the GB Rowing Senior & U23 April Trials at Caversham. The crews were faced with challenging tail wind conditions which produced tight racing throughout the weekend. The time trials and semi-finals were raced on Saturday, with the finals taking place on Sunday morning. The Brookes women’s group had some standout results, perhaps their best ever performance at a GB Trial. Jenny Bates placed highly in the time trial and eased through her semi-final which earnt her an opportunity to race in the A-Final on the Sunday. In better conditions for the Sunday, Jenny blasted
